Tech’s Next Big Thing
May Not be Tech at All

Silicon Valley. The hub of techies nestled in the San Francisco Bay Area. Heralded for its intellectual innovation. Notorious for its long commutes. It's also experiencing one of the most severe housing shortages in America. That’s why we’re partnering with NASA to develop, build, and manage more than 2,000 apartments and 100,000 sf of retail at Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. The convenient, welcoming, and walkable neighborhood will not only provide affordable housing for NASA campus employees and Mountain View residents, but also drastically cut down commuting time, allowing residents to use that time however they choose. Who knows? Tech's next big thing may just be forming stronger relationships, enjoying new hobbies, taking time for oneself, and creating a more relaxed state of mind.

"The Bay Area's strength is also its greatest weakness," says Jordan Levine, deputy chief economist of the California Association of Realtors. "The area has a strong economy and some of the most innovative companies in the nation, but it's also a poster child for housing supply issues that haven't kept up with growth."
